Building Energy Solutions with Purpose
Our goal is to acquire and develop top-tier assets that offer low lifting costs, strong well control, and sustainable production from proven, underdeveloped reserves.
By leveraging cutting-edge technology and decades of industry expertise, we strategically approach every stage of the process—acquisition, remediation, and drilling—to maximize efficiency and output.
Geographic Focus & Business Model
Our business model focuses on launching and sustaining steady production by acquiring and developing assets within proven, underdeveloped reserves across key geological regions. In Texas, we target the Permian Basin, Palo Duro Basin, Fort Worth Basin, Delaware Basin, and Bend Arch. In Oklahoma, we focus on the Ardmore Basin and Anadarko/Panhandle Basins, while in Arkansas, we target the Arkoma Basin. Although we are open to expanding into other regions, our primary focus remains on areas that help minimize operational costs and where we have strong industry networks. As we grow, our areas of interest for acquisition and development will expand accordingly.
Asset Acquisition Strategy
Our primary asset acquisition and development strategy focuses on targeting existing wellbores in the outlined regions shown on the map above. These wellbores have significant ‘behind-the-pipe potential,’ tapping into proven reserves that have yet to be fully exploited—a strategy we refer to as the ‘base hit method.’
Additionally, we plan to secure leases in proven underdeveloped areas that offer strong well control, enabling us to drill offset wells with a high likelihood of commercial success. Our team is well-networked and highly experienced in the geological basins highlighted on the map.
Remediation & Re-Completion
In many cases, our strategy involves acquiring existing wellbores that were once productive or were drilled but never completed. We conduct a thorough evaluation of well logs, downhole schematics, completion methods, and the geology of nearby wells to assess the viability of re-entering these wellbores. Our goal is to tap into remaining reserves in underexploited or untouched formations that were not fully developed in the original completions. This approach allows us to minimize risk while generating positive cash flow from established wellbores.
Often, these wellbores require a range of remediation techniques that were not commonly used when they were originally drilled, possibly 10-15 years ago or more. We leverage advanced downhole equipment and tools to better isolate perforations, identify productive formations, and employ modern stimulation procedures such as acidizing, hydraulic fracturing, coiled tubing, and improved downhole pumps. These enhanced techniques and technologies have evolved significantly over the past 20 years, enabling us to maximize production and recovery from these assets.
Drilling New Wells & Well Control
At Texas State Oil, effective well control is the foundation of our drilling strategy, especially when developing new wells. We enhance well control by securing leases held by production (HBP), which include proven wellbores surrounding our new drilling locations. This approach provides us with better geological insights and minimizes risks, as these surrounding wellbores remain active and productive within the leases we acquire.
By leveraging this strategic advantage, combined with advanced technology, real-time monitoring, and an experienced team, we ensure safer drilling operations and reduce the potential for blowouts and other well control issues. This allows us to access and produce hydrocarbons efficiently while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
